Install and Config

Installation

Git is a free version control software designed to manage and track the changes to your code.

Open terminal or command line and type: $ git --version to check if you have it in your local environment. If you don't have it - install Homebrew first and then run: $ brew install git

Configuration Commands

#	Command	Description
1	git config --global user.name "john.smith"	Define your user name.
2	git config --global user.email "[e-mail]"	Define your email address.
3	git config --system core.editor vim	Set your default editor, in this case, vim.
4	git config --list	Check the current settings.
